Located at the edge of Chinatown in downtown Manhattan, 93 Bowery St. is a 23 story hotel steps away from SoHo and Tribeca. The architect created a structure similar to a giant shard of green glass that cuts through the Manhattan skyline to create an unforgettable presence in the new Chinatown. We design, furnished, and installed floor-to-ceiling structural glass walls and customized glass revolving door at the ground floor with custom-engineered spider fittings to join the main glass plates to the glass fins.
Main plate glass is 12mm tempered. Standard push bars as the door mounted with through-bolts or concealed fasteners are finished with satin finishes of 304 stainless steel. We also installed the specified GPX™ floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall fire rated heat barrier framing of 120 min rated interior glass wall glazed with SUPERLITE II-XL 120 minute glazing panels in labeled assembly, including the fire resistant glazing that blocks radiant heat transfer to meet ASTM E119 requirements and the 90 min HMTR Door with Sound Transmission Rating: STC 44 rating.
